Records broken as Arsenal come out to be losers on deadline day!

 It was a crazy deadline day as every Premier League club was trying to secure their top transfer targets for the season. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City every top club in the Premier League were ready to splash money for players.

But now the window is closed. Premier League spending reached a record £1.9bn for the summer window.

Chelsea came out to the biggest spenders of the window with a whooping £278.4m spent on players as Thomas Tuchel looks to get back in the title race.

Manchester United were also the biggest spenders on the deadline day with the signing of Antony from Ajax for a reported fee of £82m plus add-ons for the winger. It was also the biggest amount paid for a player on a deadline day deal.

Arsenal had three bids rejected for Douglas Luiz on the deadline day as Arteta and Edu were desperate to sign a midfielder as Mo Elneny and Thomas Partey are both out on injury and the options in midfield are limited to Sambi Lokonga and Granit Xhaka.
