Arsenal take revenge against Brentford and regain top spot in the Premier League table.

Arsenal regained the top spot by cruising past the Bees to make it 6 wins in 7 games . It was a dominating display from the Gunners as they looked to take revenge for their defeat in the opening game last season which was still fresh in the memory of Gunner's fans. Saliba opened the scoring for the Gunners from a lovely corner by Saka in the 17th minute. Then it was our main man Gabriel Jesus who put his name on the scoresheet with a powerful header from Granit Xhaka's beautifully lofted pass. Finally, Fabio Viera closed the game off with a beautiful goal from outside of the box to mark his full Premier League debut for the Gunners. It was a great display from the Gunners and a much-needed win after the defeat against Manchester United. The fans can go home happily for the international break, seeing the Gunners comfortably at the top of the table again. Does Arsenal need to sign more players this summer?

The Dream Start...

Arsenal have had a dream start to the new Premier League campaign with four wins from four matches.  The mood around the club has changed and fans have started believing in the club after a long long time. The ambition and desire to win can be seen in the players which was missing in the last season. Mikel Arteta has improved the team with some quality addition to the squad with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko already establishing their places in the playing 11.

But the transfer window isn't over yet.

With just one day to go, Does Arsenal need more players in the squad?

Well, let's discuss this and see what positions Arsenal needs to work on, whether they need to work on and the different players linked to Arsenal.

The Central Midfield Dilemma!

Arsenal have been regularly playing with two central midfielders under Mikel Arteta. Well, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka have brought stability and fluidity to the midfield, but they both have their own weaknesses too.

Thomas Partey's injury woes are well known to all arsenal fans since he joined from Athletico Madrid. He hasn't been able to stay fit for a long period of time and that creates a problem for the boss.

Then there is Granit Xhaka. He does not have fitness issues but we all know his affinity towards Red Cards. He has five red cards in his arsenal career which speaks for itself. He has a tendency to lose his composure in matches that have cost us the game several times.

So, the backups that Arsenal boasts of are Mohammed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga. They are good backups but not of the quality that is needed in the squad to win games.

So what are the options in the market and who are we linked to?

Youri Tielemans  (Market Value ~50 Million Pounds)

We have been hearing Tielemans being linked to Arsenal this whole transfer market. I wonder why have Arsenal not made a move yet for the Belgian midfielder. He is a complete package, a good long-range passer, can score some stunning long-range goals, a good holding midfielder, and most important he has plenty of Premier League experience. He would be the perfect addition to the Arsenal midfield. With only a year left in his contract with Leicester City, will arsenal go for this one on deadline day? Maybe they should. Let's see if he plays in the Thursday match with Manchester United or not.

The Hunt for a Winger

Bukayo Saka has been excellent for Arsenal in the last two seasons and what makes him even more special is he is an Arsenal Academy graduate. He and Emile Smith Rowe are the prized possession of Arsenal. But the problem is Arsenal is too dependent on this kid. He has been playing lots of games for Arsenal, but what happens if gets injured? We got rid of Nicholas Pepe this season, so who is gonna replace him?

The same goes for Gabriel Martinelli. Well, Emily Smith Rowe can cover him for sure but Arsenal needs an additional winger with the games going to get stacked up once Europa League and domestic cup schedules kick in.

So what are the options and who we are linked to?

Pedro Neto (Market Value ~30 Million Pounds)

The Portuguese international is highly rated by Arteta. As per reports by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, "The player can be easily persuaded to make a switch if the Gunners were to table a suitable offer. But the player himself isn't forcing a move."

He would definitely be a good backup for Saka. He is young, he is fast and he too boasts of plenty of Premier League experience. He could be assured of plenty of game time as well as the season progresses. So this is going to be an interesting one.

Mykhaylo Mudryk (Market Value ~8 Million Pounds)

Arsenal are linked with this guy dubbed as "The Ukrainian Neymar" playing for Shakthar Donetsk. He is a highly rated winger attracting interest from top clubs around Europe including Arsenal. But if you ask me, I don't think Arsenal should pursue this one. The reasons being, that he is very young and second he doesn't have Premier League experience.

Everton have a 30 Million bid turned down for him. I don't think we should pursue this one as Arteta has already signed Marquinhos as a prospect for the future and I don't really see signing another prospect with such a high valuation.

The Conclusion

So these were the positions that Arsenal should look into if they are to sign more players this season. For me, Youri Tielemans is a no brainer. Arsenal should definitely go out for him than to wait for his contract to run out.

If they secure both Tielemans and Neto, then Arsenal could be serious trophy contenders this season, maybe not the Premier League but winning the Europa League would definitely be on the cards.
